Every formula has a derivation. 
There is a procedure. 
The procedures point to the formula. 
THE SCRIPTURES (OLD TESTAMENT) POINTS TO JESUS. Colossians 2:16-17

What do you apply in calculations? Formula; not methods of derivation. 

If you try solving the procedures in a wrong way, your derivation will be erroneous. 
Jesus is the formula. 
The scriptures are the procedures…. 
If you interpret or explain the scriptures (old testament) out of the line of Christ you will get something else. 
Something far different from CHRIST.
Different from his finished works. 

Different from his mission (reconciliation). 

Different from the God of LOVE (rather, a killer God; a blood drinker God; a war lover God; a condition attaching God etc).
