However true this careless saying seems, don't be deceived it's not the same with the DOCTRINES. Let's quickly try the statement without the Gospel.
If you believe you can't die from an accident, why don't go to an Highway and wait till Dangote's Truck comes by and just dash into it? Okay that's harsh. Why don't you jump off the cliff because you believe you won't die? Or... Believe that your Boss won't do you anything, slap him and let's see if it works for you. Now because some statements are found flying aimlessly in the streets don't mean we should incorporate them in the church.
When we are discussing SOUND DOCTRINES, many end their WRONG propositions with that statement "What you believe in works for you". It sucks! Hey! Don't fall in the trap of such people. They are liars. It has no scriptural baking. The Bible is enough to give us sound doctrine. Paul instructs little Timothy.
2 Timothy 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
Any doctrine that is not founded on Christ's finished works MUST be discarded. Disregard the author; it's not God. There MUST be a proper Bible study before a thing can be incorporated into the Church! Don't be a victim of the erroneous teachings. Many Believe everyone is saved without first believing on Christ. That's a lie. It doesn't work that way. Jesus repeated times upon times that YOU MUST BELIEVE. Apostle Paul laid emphasis too.
Some believe Burning candles is a sound doctrine, they even carry the Bible about (I doubt if they read at all. A thing is not Biblical if it doesn't define Christ). They believe they can finish one's life with candles. That's no Gospel! However, Jesus never practised such... The Apostles never did all that. It doesn't work that way! Run! Some believe the WORKS of the Law justifies the Believer. They don't lie, they don't wear trousers, they don't do all manner of things. They believe what they do or don't do qualified them before God.
Romans 10:2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. It's a useless zeal. It doesn't work that way! What you believe in may be wrong, you may think it works BUT THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS. We know the end. Jesus showed us the way. It's in the scriptures. It's nothing but Christ.
Total reliance on what Christ did. Faith in Christ only. Forget all the stories that touch the heart. They say INSANITY works for them. They say HERESIES work for them. Some say the Holy Spirit taught them these things. Hey! The Holy Spirit wouldn't teach beyond what Jesus Christ taught.
John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Even if He'll say something [that appear] new, He still will be justified in the written word. And His ministration would glorify God. The Epistles are there to correct us. Paul wrote enough by the same Spirit.
There are no new instructions. No. What you believe in don't work if not in Christ! We don't tell God how to go about what He designed. It's a careless saying. In fact, it failed the test of carnal things, how then will it justify SPIRITUAL THINGS? Friend, The message is Christ and Christ and Him being crucified. No additives.
Amen.
