There was a fuss on my FB wall about this song, and our dear "Lovers" got mad at me for writing about it.
They said I was too extreme. That knowledge was turning my head upside-down. That I was inspired by the Devil.
I laugh.
However, such STUPIDIES must be first and foremost TREATED before one can learn effectively.
Here we go.
The theme Chapter of the song:
Isaiah 55:1 —
Ho, every one that thirsteth, COME YE TO THE WATERS, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Isaiah 55:3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and YOUR SOUL SHALL LIVE; and I will make an EVERLASTING COVENANT with you, even the sure mercies of David.
The same Prophet Isaiah earlier said:
Isaiah 12:3 Therefore with joy shall ye DRAW WATER out of the wells of salvation.
Just so funny that what Prophet Isaiah talked about here was quite obvious.
SALVATION!
SALVATION!
And SALVATION!
Be informed that the Prophets had no clear view of what they wrote.
Prophet Isaiah inclusive.
They didn't understand it.
They wrote as they were moved to write.
1 Peter 1:10-11
This salvation was SOMETHING THE PROPHETS DID NOT FULLY UNDERSTAND. Though they wrote about it, they had many questions as to what it all could mean.
[11] THEY WONDERED WHAT THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST WITHIN THEM WAS TALKING ABOUT, for he told them to write down the events which, since then, have happened to Christ: his suffering, and his great glory afterwards. And they wondered when and to whom all this would happen.
(TLB)
So the Prophet Isaiah was justified if he said YE SHALL DRAW (though said to unsaved Israel).
He had no clear view of what he PREACHED.
He wrote in the BEST way he could communicate how abundant the SALVATION would be.
Truly, it is so!
It's so much abundant that it cannot be exhausted.
We don't pay for it.
Now we UNDERSTOOD better what he meant.
Living Bible 1 Peter 1:12
They were finally told that these things would not occur during their lifetime, but long years later, during yours. And now at last THIS GOOD NEWS HAS BEEN PLAINLY ANNOUNCED TO ALL OF US. It was preached to us in the power of the same heaven-sent Holy Spirit who spoke to them; and it is all so strange and wonderful that even the angels in heaven would give a great deal to know more about it.
THIS GOOD NEWS HAS BEEN PLAINLY ANNOUNCED TO ALL OF US!
THIS GOOD NEWS HAS BEEN PLAINLY ANNOUNCED TO ALL OF US!
PLAINLY!
How?
Thorugh Christ!
Jesus Christ.
In Matthew 17, the representations of the Law and the Prophets were present at the mount of Transfiguration.
Right there, God said, hear Jesus instead!
Matthew 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
Why?
For a better understanding of the law (Moses), and the Prophets (e.g Isaiah).
Because He has been with God, He knew God more than anyone.
John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
So to understand the scripture (the old testament) and it's messages, and the things God was proclaimed to have SAID or DONE is by first understanding Jesus Christ as he unveiled the true identity of the true God and his deeds and sayings.
1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
The truth of the old testament lies in Jesus Christ, the direct image of the Father.
Hebrews 1:1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers BY THE PROPHETS,
1:2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the EXPRESS IMAGE OF HIS PERSON, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;
What does this guy, Jesus have to say to this matter?
What did Jesus say about DRAWING, WELLS and SALVATION?
John 4:12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle?
4:13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him SHALL BE IN HIM A WELL OF WATER SPRINGING UP INTO EVERLASTING LIFE.
Now we know PLAINLY what Isaiah prophesied — Everlasting life.
It is seen here that Jesus' definition of the SALVATION spoken of by Prophet Isaiah is ETERNAL LIFE.
See again:
SHALL BE IN HIM A WELL OF WATER SPRINGING UP INTO EVERLASTING LIFE.
SHALL BE IN HIM A WELL OF WATER SPRINGING UP INTO EVERLASTING LIFE.
Read Isaiah again.
Isaiah 12:3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
But Jesus said, THE WELL OF SALVATION IS IN HIM ALREADY, that is, the Believer.
IT FLOWS IN HIM.
What then is the Believer in Christ going to the presence of God to DRAW?!
Nothing from nowhere outside him!
Let's think friends!
It's in us!
We have it!
The Believer in Christ is the God's presence!
1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?
1 Corinthians 6:17 But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.
So the Believer in Christ don't renew Salvation!
Not by refetching Salvation again.
No!
He's the expression of Salvation.
He is SALVATION himself.
A custodian of Salvation!
There is nothing like REDEDICATION!
The Believer don't come to the Church (so called "presence of God") to renew Salvation by DRAWING!
All these Rhemas are not BIBLICAL!
We trash them!
That said.
Now to our dear sister, the composer of WE HAVE COME TO DRAW.
I love music.
I enjoy SPIRITUAL SONGS in all GENRE.
I don't know you, this is your first song I'm listening to.
I do not intend to blackmail you or tarnish your music career.
I'm only quickened to "SHOUT BACK" at anything that belittles the place of the Believer in Christ.
But sis, if the book of Isaiah was where you took your song from (as said in the closing of the version I have), you made a mistake singing that song, as a Believer, and carrying other Believers along too, in such BELITTLEMENT.
Those verses talked about SALVATION, nothing more or less.
A word to inform Unbelievers to come to life, and an assurance of life, a promise, to anyone who WILL come.
But Believers have come!
They have taken!
They have drunk!
We have come, we have been made SOURCE OF THE SPRING OF LIFE as promised.
It's a done deal, not a thing we'll keep doing.
We don't GO or COME to anywhere to GET IT or more of it!
It's not like going to River Jordan to get Salvation (maybe through baptism), Drawing Salvation from Jordan.
No!
You said Yesterday is gone!
True!
But Jesus is the same, yesterday, today and forever in us and we are in him all time!
This is why the YESTERDAY that was gone went for good.
It's not a reason to come and draw Salvation again!
Isaiah 55 talks about assurance SALVATION!
Likewise, Isaiah 12 as expressed by Jesus Christ.
Even if such song would be sung, it's not in the mouth of the Believer in Christ.
The statements were said to the Unbelieving Israel — Unbelievers, telling them about Salvation in CHRIST.
But we are Believers IN CHRIST.
We're Blessed Eternally with this limitless Salvation, we don't "draw" or go to "draw again".
Blessed.
