If believers would have one thing doing, this would only be “relaxing and trusting in God”. God wants us to take more from him but we take so little (See Mat. 16:8).
The Bible lays emphasis on letting the peace of God rule your heart by trusting only in God for your salvation. As believers, it is our sole responsibility to relax in the finished works of Christ. Many believers today look down upon themselves because they judge themselves based on their performances but this is not true with God: He doesn’t see you that way.
It is in the scriptures that it is only by faith that we can please God; not by our performances (See Heb. 11:6). The salvation that you are scared of losing was not gained by yourself in the first place (See Eph. 2:8-9).
It further says that you should not evaluate yourself by what the world [carnal mind] thinks about you (See 2 Cor. 5:16). Do you have challenges or habits that make you think God has forsaken you? Do you think you are not loved any longer because of your addiction(s)? Don’t. God knows you. You might not be doing it so rightly but remember that God’s good opinion of you does not change (See Job 23:13, Jos. 1:5)
You are not what you think; rather, what God says you are. He says you are righteous (See 2 Cor. 5:16; Phil. 3:9); you are Holy (See 1 Pet. 2:9); you are a brand new person (2 Cor. 5:17); you are not condemned (See Rom. 8:1). Hello friend, don’t be condemned, start seeing yourself in the scriptures – the mirror of the spirit – which is by faith.
Trusting in God is your responsibility and this is how to make God pleased. Knowing your place in the father is what edifies you. And be always thankful; this is how we grow. We win!
I call you blessed.
Loves.
