(Follow very closely)
Before you go and do water baptism in 7 different Rivers and the last one in River Jordan, listen up!
(I learnt some still go there for Baptism.)
WATER BAPTISM SAVES NO ONE!
I also learned that if you lost your Water Baptism Cerificate you must do another one again to obtain another Certificate.
This is one craze bulit on already existing Madness.
Wait,
First and foremost, How may certificates did John (whose mission it was) issue?
None!
Secondly, you pick a new name after baptism.
How many people did John rename?
None!
Thirdly, How many people did Jesus baptise?
None!
John 4:2
[2](Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)
You may say BUT HIS disciples did, why didn't he stop them?
Listen attentively, nothing changed until the death of Jesus Christ.
These folks believed that for remission to be truly done, John's ways may be employed.
One of the things Jesus never spoke about.
Maybe for this reason.
John 16:12-13
[12]I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
[13]Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
They therefore may not queried for IGNORANCE.
WHAT ABOUT.
John 3:5?
John 3:5
[5]Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
FIRST AND FOREMOST, Jesus said EXCEPT A MAN BE BORN OF WATER.
Now the Next Chapter clarifies whatever it is Jesus meant by WATER.
John 4:10,13-14
[10]Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee LIVING WATER.
.
.
[13]Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
(Physical water from the well.)
[14]But whosoever drinketh of the WATER that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the WATER that I shall give him shall be in him a well of WATER springing up INTO EVERLASTING LIFE.
So whatever Jesus meant as WATER to Necodemus was never a Physical water,
(Verse 10 and 14)
It's not a physical river as in Jordan.
But we understand that it is the Spirit that gives life.
2 Corinthians 3:6
[6]Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, BUT THE SPIRIT GIVETH LIFE.
THE SPIRIT GIVETH LIFE.
THE SPIRIT GIVETH LIFE.
The life He gives is Everlasting.
So the water Jesus Christ IMPLIED, both to Nicodemus and the Samaritan woman, was THE SPIRIT, the Holy Spirit.
And this is consistent with the Greek rendering of the word "and" as "Kai" which means "that is, which is".
Now the verse is SOUNDLY read as
John 3:5
[5]Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water THAT IS of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Simple.
The "water" is the Holy Spirit and not some physical River Jordan or tap water sprinkled on People.
SECONDLY,
John 3:6
[6]That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Have you ever wondered why Jesus did not in the next statement add,
"And that which is born of the water is water"?
If you've never, there you go.
This is because he never meant a different thing apart from the Spirit when he earlier mentioned "water".
And he cannot possibly mean ONE CAN BE BORN OF PHYSICAL WATER.
No!
Your Father gave birth to you in the flesh (born of the flesh), and you are born again IN THE SPIRIT (born of the Spirit).
The Father of the BORN AGAIN is God and He himself is a Spirit.
Physical water cannot come into play here.
Never!
Again I repeat, Never!
Water Baptism of any sort is USELESS!
How DOES someone become Born again?
By the Spirit.
How DOES someone by the Spirit become Born again.
By Faith.
How does someone see the kingdom of God?
Through the Spirit, and the Spirit is of Faith,
By believing on Christ.
Ephesians 1:13
[13]In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye BELIEVED, ye were sealed with that HOLY SPIRIT of promise,
Hope this helps someone.
Blessed.
