STAKING HOPE

IMG_20190522_164506_610

So I sat back, fixated upon reasoning I could summon,
Thought about life and the ups,
The downs were more terrifying than I could keep imagining.
So I snapped out of my reverie, and grabbed my ink instead.
A couple of times I had fallen short at things that I was good at,
Left alone with my pride injured very badly,
Like a shredded leaf with no thoughts of recuperation.
A few questions, maybe query; I gave mother earth.
Why do chips crumble and no one cares?
Why do empty men lead with a façade of vigor?
Wicked men fear the honour of death,
While they act like it is a delicious meal for the masses?
Why is Karma silent against all?
In the middle of the stars and the golden circle I knelt,
Searching the cosmos for an answer that befits, but—
No word, no word was delivered unto me for a reply.

“The heroes past have done enough”, some say.
“Enough of what”, I say.
We yet lie in the world with no willingness to live,
The easiest way to live is to die.
The leadership claims to be bitter about deaths,
Yet, through them the Grim Reaper knocks our door,
And these heroes of our time are pleased—
Well spelt in their silence to this cause.
“Our pockets are not arid”, they say.
They pursue what is running for its life to make a name on bravery,
But they squirt when they are attacked by the same—cowards!
Who cares for the soul that rot in hell?
The folks down here are terrified.
Many had paid for their outspokenness with their life,
And freedom to speak for humanity is War Reborn.
Therefore, the rest of us are scared of the same.

Not that hope is expensive but fear is cheap.
We settle for the less, the comfort that destroys us.
But regardless of all that we are faced with,
I would say, “Let us fight back, keeping hope alive”.
Dying is not a resolute,
Having faith in the world we are capable of building is,
A better world where humanity will coexist,
Where colour would imply nothing,
And wealth evenly distributed.
Rather than just us; loving the unborn,
Making something out of nothing for our children’s children.
That not how we are made?
If there is anything we are capable of;
Making our imaginations come true by oneness,
And unity by striving, hoping for the best altogether.
Let us place our bets on hope that is good—keeping forward.
