Hey, Relax. I know life is full of ups and downs. At a critical point in life, undergoing a lag phase may become a norm. It might get so bad that you don’t want to work or engage with things you would. You wish to be free like a bird in the sky.

When the elderly looks at you, they say don’t be lazy because your attitude determines your altitude in life. Your attitude towards life is what you think, feel and believe about life. Don’t be lax but what does ‘Lax Attitude’ really mean?

Indulging in a lax attitude means you are being negligent or do not care about things in life. As ephemeral as life is, lax moments are like a low or negative end of a propagating wave that gets better through self-meditation and willingness.

Scholars hold opposite opinions on whether a lax attitude is one-time beneficial or all-time dangerous hence I hope to share my views on it.

My perusal of the Collins COBUILD Advanced Learners Dictionary shows this attitude as a state of not being careful or strict which also connotes carelessness and a laissez-faire attitude. When in a relaxed state, the brain worries less or goes into near inactivity and a constant exhibition of this state depicts a lack of discipline at work and gives rise to poor performance.

According to human behavioral patterns, this attitude can be intentional or due to severe ignorance.

Is the Lax Attitude harmful?

Yes, it is. A contextual implication of this attitude in work or life scenarios depicts it as harmful. In a situation where attention, seriousness, and consistency are needed, when the lax attitude comes in you lose more than you can imagine. It could lead to death, sickness, poverty, regret, extreme loss, mental pain, and general pain. Procrastination works hand in hand with being lax.

Furthermore, a lax attitude is a time waster and progress inhibitor. It prevents our consciousness from seeing the severity, seriousness, and importance of something and gives our subconscious the feeling that everything will be fine or is fine. While it is easier to get addicted to it, it may take time to get rid of.

Don’t confuse resting at certain times when we need to lay back about someone or something with lax. Consistency, discipline, perseverance, endurance, putting your heart and soul into it, and understanding this attitude is key to getting rid of the dangerous attitude.

In conclusion, the lax attitude is laziness and won’t leave voluntarily. A stitch in time saves nine, don’t wait on it; get rid of it now with seriousness and self-discipline.
